Editors @ The Wiltern – 09.24.07

Editors

Can’t stop raving about the great time I had at the Editor’s concert… WOW!  I’ve seen many concerts at the Wiltern, and I really have to admit, this one will definitely go down in my books as one of my top favorites.  Usually at the Wiltern the sound comes off just a little muffled or pretty much you can’t really hear the words that are being sung.  It’s like beat, beat, beat, blah-blah-blah, beat beat, beat, wah-wah-wah.  Actually, more like the teacher in the Peanuts cartoon.  And it kinda sucks because you go there for the band that you like, and you can barely understand what is being sung (although yes, a true fan would know the lyrics anyhow, but still, i’d like to hear them at least).  But tonight was different.

The opening band was ok… because of the sound as I just explained, I was thinking the rest of the show was going to be just as mediocre.  Getting there a bit late, I was also expecting to stand, which isn’t really fun when you’re short.  But got a little lucky and was able to get a table at the very back.  The location turned out to be excellent!  The Editors came on and the music was loud and clear, and I was able to see over everyone’s heads and had a good, direct view of the band.  Plain and simple, it was an absolute great performance!!  They pretty much came on stage, said hello and just played non-stop for the next hour, maybe taking a brief second to thank everyone and the bands before them before continuing on with another few songs.  They really went over my expectations (last time I ever listen to JT again), and I would see them again anytime.
